Trench Coat: La Vie Rebecca Taylor (on sale) | Turtleneck: Banana Republic | Jeans: Topshop | Shoes: Chanel
Welcome to the first day of May!
A few things:
* I’ve spoken about my love for trench coats on many occasions, but currently, I’m on the hunt for a pastel colored trench and/or duster. After seeing my friend, Karen, looking chic as ever in her pink one, the need for one intensified.
*Keith is off for several weeks at the end of this month and we really want to go somewhere as a family. We’re deciding if we should get on a plane or drive somewhere and rent an Airb&b. I have no qualms about flying with a baby, as long as it’s not too far, but Keith has a bit of anxiety about the entire situation. If anyone has any advice, feedback, or any suggestions as to a great city/place to visit with a baby, please share! I was thinking about Miami, but maybe there are better options out there.
*This weekend, I’ll be speaking and hanging out at the Create & Cultivate conference. Let me know if you’re planning on being there! Would love to meet some of you!
*Speaking of, I was honored to be featured on Inc.com, alongside other entrepreneurial women that I respect and look up to!
xo,
Helena

I love this trench and how you’ve styled it with the striped sweater underneath that pairs so perfectly with those gorgeous Chanel shoes! Great styling, as always! Hmm, I have no idea where would be a great place to travel with a baby that isn’t too far other than Cali and Florida, but you recently went to Cali, so would you want to head back there again so soon?! I’m definitely eager to know where you’ll end up 🙂 Also, congrats on being featured, it’s well deserved. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great week ahead!
XO,
Jalisa

So chic and classic. Love the look. As far as travelling with the baby is concerned it always works out great with little bit of prepration. We have been travelling with our little one since she was 3 months old. saome of the options are Cancun-Mexico, Hawaii is a great place to be with babies/kids Resorts vacations are also great at this age, Chicago-if you want a city vacation

Congrats on your achievements! Love the pairing of the t-neck and the shoes! To tell you the truth I never travelled by plane with small children. But I do know people who won’t travel without gravel as it makes them sleep during flight.

OMG, congrats on the Inc.com feature! Quite the accomplishment, and definitely in some amazing company!
I can’t speak to traveling with a baby, but Bermuda is less than 2 hours away and immigration is a breeze. Might be a good starter trip option!

Love you blog! I have a son who is almost 10 months and it’s been so wonderful and HELPFUL to read all of your mom/baby focused posts. Thanks for being so realistic!!!! And — Martha’s Vineyard! It’s SUCH a quick flight from NYC. Favorite place on earth!

don’t go to Miami! Nate too young & CDC still has advisory re: Zika- yes, you can use DEET- but I don’t like on young child- I’m a nurse in OB office & handle all Zika exposures

What a lovely chic outfit! I’m also very into trench coats this season.

Don’t go to Miami given the Zika situation there. It can affect Nate since his brain is still developing/growing, and you if you want to have another baby someday. I’d do Martha’s or the hamptons or just somewhere beautiful upstate. Babies r nbd on a plane at this age and Nate seems like such an easygoing baby on top of that! Looking gorgeous as always of course in this amazing trench 🙂

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A QUIET, LOVELY, SIMPLE-CHIC KIND OF GET AWAY, MAY I SUGGEST SOME OF THE BEACHES ON “30A” IN FLORIDA’S PANHANDLE? ALYS BEACH IS PARTICULARLY LOVELY, BUT THAT STRETCH OF BEACH KNOWN AS 30A IS A TOP PICK FOR MOST TRAVEL AFICIONADOS. HERE IS A LINK TO ALYS BEACH WEBSITE, BUT CHECK OUT THE OTHER BEACHES ALONG 30A. http://www.alysbeach.com

Congratulations on that list – amazing! I wish I could tell you to come to Europe but might be too painful a flight for such a little baby. I have to admit I am not a fan of the trench coat – even though I love in London! Wrote a fun post on this: http://fashionandfrappes.com/fashion-essential-dont-get-trench-coat/

Love the look! I always turn to your blog for some city, chic, cold weather outfit. You are always on point. BTW, it is so normal to feel anxious when traveling with a baby especially if this is your first time. While Miami is so fun, I just don’t quite think of it as the most kid friendly. If you are set to go to Florida since you are coming from NY, I would look into Seaside, Aly’s Beach or Rosemary Beach. I personally have a second home there. It is beautiful (white sand beaches), posh, chic yet kid friendly.

Lovely sleek hair, the coat just made your look more sophisticated.
