This outfit was mostly made up of pieces I’ve had in my closet for over a year. For some, that might not be too impressive, but I’ve been trying not to buy unnecessary pieces or any “dupes” of what I already have. The other day, I walked into Club Monaco and saw a gorgeous grey coat. I picked it up, tried it and thought to myself “oh! this is a must.” As I was waiting on line to pay, I thought to myself “what the hell am I doing? I have an almost similar one home…” I walked out of the store, came home and took this coat out of my closet as a reminder to wear it.
In general, I’ve been trying really hard to shop my own closet. I’m not going to lie, having a blog where I often document my outfits can make that incredibly tricky. I often crave new things: new accessories, a new lipstick, new shoes, BUT, there are times where I have to reel it in. This was one of those instances!

Love this post because it is SO true and a good reminder to the new year! I get so wrapped up in the novelty of something new and it makes me feel so good, but I have to remind myself that if we shop in our closets more, not buy unnecessary items, we will have the luxury to splurge on what we truly want, and our husbands will be happier in the long run hah! 🙂
