Eclairs from L’Eclair de Genie

Sharing my last batch of photos from beautiful Paris! I went there with three girlfriends, where we rented an adorable apartment from Airbnb in one of my favorite neighborhoods, Saint Germain. We spent our days walking 8+ hours, going to museums and eating our way through each neighborhood. We were also lucky to have our Paris expert, Angie, on the trip with us. Because of her knowledge, we got to eat and drink at some of the best places. I wanted to share some of my favorites below:

Fish La Boissoniere: One of the best dinners of our trip! All the food was fresh, delicious and innovative, with a charming atmosphere without feeling too stuffy. The menu was all in French but our waitress was kind enough to break everything down for us in English. My friends and I all ordered different things to share and although all the dishes were delicious, the Hake was my favorite! Also, make sure you don’t skip dessert. We opted for the prefix menu and in my opinion, that was the way to go.

13-a Baker’s Dozen: This place is a true gem, tucked away in the back of a charming courtyard. We came here for breakfast one morning and the owner, Laurel, welcomed us with her infenctious spirit. From behind the counter she asks “do you girls like asparagus in your omelet? pepper? tomatoes?” I felt like I was eating breakfast at a friends place topped with fresh biscuits and freshly made juice, located in the most wonderful setting.

Le 404: a Moroccan restaurant with the most fun atmosphere and beautiful decor. The food is delicious, with large portions (I recommend sharing!) and such a welcome change after having nothing but French food the days before.

Brasserie Thoumieux: Classic Parisian, bistro-like setting, located on of the most beautiful streets. Great French food with an interior and ambience to match.

Coffee: in general, I usually have a pretty hard time with the coffee in Paris. Whether I order a cappuccino or a long black, I feel it’s either too weak, too milky or I just didn’t love the taste. I’m not someone who needs a ton of caffeine in a day, but I definitely need (and really look forward to) that morning cup to wake me up. Out of all the places we went to, Telescope was by far my favorite. Not only was the shop adorable, but the coffee (and banana bread!) was on point. Highly recommend!

L’Eclair de Genie: aside from being the most beautiful eclairs you’ll ever see, they’re also the most delicious. Seriously! We were wondering if they taste as good as they look and truthfully, they probably taste better.

And there you have it! A few of my favorites. Thank you for following along!
