I have a fairly long bucket list, which mainly consists of all the places I want to travel to. Many of these places are far across the world (Egypt, Japan and Greece, to name a few) and some are a bit easier to reach, like The Grand Canyon and Nashville. I’m pretty excited because next month, Keith and I are knocking a big one off the list: road tripping through California! We have yet to figure out the exact schedule, but know we’re flying into LA and if time allows (we have about a week) want to end up in San Francisco. Does that sound too crazy time wise? If you guys have any suggestions/recommendations, would absolutely love to hear! So far, we just have our flight to LA booked, so everything is pretty flexible.
On to the outfit! This is pretty much a version of what I always wear when I travel. Shoes that are easy to slip on and off (with socks in my bag), a comfy tee, a jacket or sweater and a chunky scarf. Something I consider stylish, yet comfortable.

Yay! You will love it here and you can do so much in a week! Definitely take the 101 up the coast from LA – Hearst Castle is a great stop along the way. In SF be sure to visit the Buena Vista for Irish Coffee, it's at the cable car turnaround and also drive down Lombard Street. Don't forget about Napa and Sonoma for wine tasting, too! Plus the giant redwoods!

Highly recommend a stop in Carmel-by-the-Sea as you make your way North to San Francisco. The most charming town, wonderful shopping and food and the worlds most beautiful beach — the Carmel Town Beach. You can check out the 17 mile drive and Monterey, too. All very close.

A week is more than enough time, definitely recommend Monterrey/Carmel area…the beaches there are just breathtaking, beautiful town, kindest people. Pebble beach is in that area and it's a must, the homes perched on cliffs above the ocean are just indescribable. Big Sur is a must as well, seeing all the redwoods and the coastline is such a breath of fresh air and a nice change from all the hustle and bustle of big cities.

This is the perfect outfit for travel! Love the jeans and I'm a sucker for striped tees. As for your trip, my husband and I once drove down from Portland, Or to San Francisco on the PCH. Amazing! Would do it again. I recommend you try and get out to SanFran and definitely stop by Carmel by the Sea in Monterrey on your way up. You will love it.

You should definitely try to reverse your trip! Driving from San Fran down to LA via the PCH. Then you will be on the right side of the road (the ocean side) the entire trip, not the reverse where your view will be obstructed by cars in the opposite lane. But great outfit as always and enjoy your trip!!

Do you like wine? You can get a whirlwind tour of all the different wine countries throughout the state. Santa Barbara, little Los Olivos, Santa Maria, Paso Robles, Carmel/Monterrey, Santa Cruz Mountains, San Francisco, then up to Napa and Sonoma (a few of our favorites). Wonderful wine is made through out the state, and these locations are also beautiful, and with great food as well. Sounds like a fantastic trip!

As others have mentioned, Santa Barbara, Big Sur, and Monterey/Carmel are great stops between LA and SF. I'd also try to make time for San Diego, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree, as well as Napa, which are a little bit further than your initial scope, but definitely doable!
