16 Children’s Books that Celebrate Diversity

June 4, 2020

This is a post I've been wanting to create for a long time. Admittedly, with everything going on in the world, it felt more appropriate than ever to finally publish. As a mom of two small children, I'm aware of the great responsibility, but also the privilege, to teach them about the beauty of different people and cultures. At the end of the day, it all begins at home and I'm hopeful for a future generation that's more open minded than the ones before it. Below is a list of books that celebrate diversity. I also want to point out that I am using affiliate links, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to organizations educating all children about racial equality.

Five Black-Owned Shops I’m So Glad I Discovered {Part I}

June 3, 2020

With everything going on in the world, there has been some positive things happening. Many of us, including myself, have been involved in some extremely thought-provoking conversations. I've been learning so much and I know that this is only the beginning. I've learned more in the past week than I have in a very long time. I've listened to podcasts, read articles, started listening to some audio books and donated to various charities including Black Lives Matter, Justice & Equality Fund and Minnesota Freedom Fund.

Additionally,  in the last couple of days,  I've been introduced to some incredible, black-owned small businesses that I would love to highlight. I'm not sure how I didn't stumble upon them before - they're so up my alley!  I may have treated myself to a few of the below things...

Weekend Notes & Thoughts | May 16th

May 16, 2020

Yesterday it was announced that home order has been extended. Even though we all knew it was coming, the news still adds a weird feeling into the air. Whenever we get outside, the mood immediately shift (for the better), in all of us.

An Evening Skincare Routine with Elemis + 25% Off Everything

May 15, 2020

When I got the opportunity to partner with Elemis to share a few of my favorite products, I jumped at the chance. I've been a loyal fan of the brand for years and while I've tried so many things from them, I do have some standout players.

One thing that I think is important to mention is that the team gave me the option to incorporate other skincare products into my routine. I really love that because the reality is, most people do not solely use one brand. However, by personal choice, I wanted to share a full nighttime routine only using Elemis. Why? Because these products are truly wonderful and I wanted to highlight three different categories: cleansing, moisture and eyes.

Details Around The Home

May 13, 2020

Over the last two months, I've managed to squeeze in a little rearranging, reorganizing and a bit of redecorating. Not a whole lot, especially with Nate and Sasha, but enough to keep my creative juices flowing. One thing this quarantine has confirmed, I need a way to keep my creativity alive. Since I'm not putting together a whole lot of outfits, focusing a bit more on the home has been a nice outlet.

These are little vignettes that I find make a big impact. Just like with clothing, the little details can be so important.  Lets jump right into it!

Weekend Notes & A Little Life Update

May 8, 2020

Hi! I'm back in action. Early last week, Keith noticed a crack in my screen and within minutes, my computer started going crazy. We took it to a repair shop and $600 and a week and a half later, I finally have it back. I really dislike answering emails, or quite frankly, any sort of messages from my phone, so I'm pretty happy.

We're almost two months into quarantine and it's gotten both easier and harder.
