Yesterday, I had one of those incredible New York City days that makes me appreciate the city so much. One of my post pandemic goals has been to rediscover NYC and act more like a tourist. It’s something I’ve said many times in the past (pre-covid), but after the year that we had, I’m trying not to take anything for granted. I know I’m not the only one that feels this way.
Weekend Notes & Links: June 18, 2021
I met up with a friend and we took the ferry to Governors Island (my first time). We rode bikes, ate delicious food, drank cocktails in the sun, relaxed in hammocks, walked around a lot and finished the day off by having dinner and then going to the Seaglass Carousel. It was truly perfect. I’m going to get it down into a “my perfect day in NYC” type of post so anyone can reference it. Side note, those posts need to come back.
A great summer guide to navigating NYC post-pandemic.
Such an honest and beautifully written post from Keiko on adjusting to suburban life after leaving NYC.
Here’s what’s new on Netflix for June.
I just ordered this packable visor. While I love a hat for when I’m by the beach or pool, it’s not the most comfortable for when you want to sit or lay back.
Got brain fog? Apparently these foods help restore sharp thinking.
Fashion, Travel, and Others
I just ordered this dress and am hoping the ruching detailing is as flattering as I think it will be.
Two recently amazon purchases I’ve been happy with: this lounge set for me (I got a small) and this one for Sasha (I got her a 2T as it runs small).
This romper is back in stock (I got it in a medium). It’s one of my favorite warm weather finds. Light weight, looks great on and so comfortable. In general, the brand, Lost + Wander, has a lot of really nice pieces.
Romantic Airbnb getaways for couples needing a vacation.
While I rarely buy anything, Lauren’s Closet on Moda Operandi is one of my favorite sections to “window shop.” Not going to lie though, I’m really debating this hat.
Grace wrote a great post on making friends as an adult.
How to compliment someone without mentioning their looks.
Found a new wash of my favorite denim shorts; sharing more denim favs in this post in case you missed it.
11 things to say instead of “Just Checking In.”
I’m such a sucker for a blazer dress and this sleeveless one from Black Halo is no exception.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
xo,
Helena
