I cringe to think that in my 20’s, the only SPF that I’d wear would come from my foundation or powder. I also cringe to think about how much I actually tried to tan my face. ON PURPOSE. Thankfully, I’m way smarter now now that I’m in my 30’s and I wear SPF every single day, even when it’s cloudy.
I’ve previously expressed my love for Shiseido, but in the past year, I’ve found one hat I love even more – Elta MD.
It came highly recommended by my dermatologist and it’s become my favorite SPF on the market. It’s lightweight, never breaks me out, is fairly inexpensive and they even have a tinted formula, the one I’m currently using. My morning routine is as follows: tone, antioxidant serum, hyaluronic acid and then the Elta MD, which serves as my moisturizer and SPF in one.
It’s one of the questions I get asked the most, so if you’re in the market for a new SPF, I highly recommend this one!

I have been trying to find a good SPF that doesn’t make my skin super shiny and break me out, this sounds great! Thank you for sharing, I hope you will stop by my blog when you get the chance x

Having good skincare knowledge is so very important starting at a young age. Everyone loves the ☀️ sun, but it could be so damaging to our skin if not taken care the right way. 🙂
Great post on skincare.

I’ve been using Elta MD, same version for about 3 years-It’s the only one that doesn’t burn/irritate my skin, nor does it break me out-Being that I have dry skin this hydrates and the tint is good, gives a boost of color-I’ve used both; tinted and non-tinted and both provide great protection-

And would you be able to share the contact info for your dermatologist maybe? I apologize if you have already told your readers about her/him and I missed it.

My favorite – I recommend it to everyone! I also use a hydrating serum, so it was such a journey to find an SPF to go on top of all the serums that didn’t make my morning process feel like I was glopping products on my face. THE BEST!

And on vacation ( beach vacation), you don’t tan your face either?

Completely agree! This is the only sunscreen I use. It’s the only one I’ve found that has a matte finish, doesn’t make me look like a ghost or make my oily skin break out.

Helena this might be an extremely dumb question but in what order do you put sunscreen in relation to primer and foundation – before p/f or after?
