Coat: Aritzia (similar here) | Bodysuit: Wolford | Denim: Something Navy | Boots: Aquazzura | Bag: Vintage Chanel | Sunglasses: Le Specs | Belt: Saint Laurent (old, but love the updated version)
I’ve officially entered that period where getting dressed, while trying to look put together and not repeat the same outfit 20x in a row, has gotten slightly challenging.
With the holidays being over, I’m a bit less, as I’m sure we all are, inspired to reach for certain colors and “fun looks.” More than anything, it’s the temperatures that are the real buzz kill. Sorry to get all Debbie Downer-ish on you guys. But hey, sometimes that’s the reality of it and it happens to the best of us.
Yesterday, I was chatting with my best friend, Susy, and she mentioned that we need to start making some fun summer plans. Every year, we talk about renting a house by the beach or a pool for a few weeks. But every year, we’re a bit too late to the game. Houses book up so quickly (some are already fully booked!). And we kick ourselves for not getting our act together sooner. So, lesson learned and we’re currently on the ball and trying to make sh*t happen.
Conversations like that get me excited for all of the fun things to look forward to. Even in the midst of the not-so-fun months. So let this be a friendly reminder:
If you’re also in that weird winter, post holiday funk, take the initiative and get some plans on the calendar. Perhaps some for this month and a few for the future? It always helps!

I couldn’t have expressed my own feelings any better haha! I am definitely in a little rut regarding outfit inspirations lately because it is just so cold – i can’t wait for warmer weather!

Hopefully, this year you can manage it to rent a house with your friend. And your look of today is everything different than boring! It is cool and I like how you put the pieces together.

I don’t think you got Debbie Downer-ish. I like how real you got in this post. I agree. I think making fun summer plans early gives you things to look forward to and is a good way to get out of the post holiday funk.

Great look as usual!
I would imagine that east-coast weather can get pretty old fast…another reason to move (or vacation) to California 🙂
January 16, 2019In terms of inspiration, I’m to have a “jeans-free” week this week. I’m reaching for leather pants, sweater dresses and long, knit maxi skirts. Taken denim out of the equation is really eye-opening. (And for context, I have about 70 pairs!)

I love this look! On my side of the world it’s actually Summer, and to be honest I’m over the heat, so I’m living from seeing everyone’s Winter looks!

I started making plans for summer just after the new year – there is no way I could have survived January! I even planned to book something for February just to make it through. Happy new year btw!

Loving your coat! In Québec, snow usually begins mid-November and sticks to the ground until March. Making weekly plans/outings definitely makes this period of the year go by faster. The snow really makes a difference too; even gloomy days are rather bright because of the blanket of snow. Winter, more than any other time of the year, I try to take the time to put together my outfit in the evening with that something that brings it to the next level. This coming weekend we’ve booked a room at a cozy hotel in Old-Québec (only 20 minutes away). Plan on eating some great food, dressing for long walks, hot chocolate and a bit of window shopping.
